2003 SEASON : DVD & Video (VHS)

After such an action packed season, fitting all of the action from 20 races in to just 3 hours was never going to be an easy task. Despite this, the 2003 season review captures the on track action in a way that no fan will ever tire of watching.

With coverage from each of the ten meetings, the review uses commentary (Ben Edwards, Tim Harvey & others) and images from the ITV footage, with an additional voiceover to keep things flowing.

The review successfully captures the tension that accompanied the championship battle right up to the last meeting. The amateur footage of the parc-ferme fracas between Yvan Muller & Anthony Reid that was shown on ITV is missing, but that is perhaps for the best, allowing the focus to remain very much on the on-track action.

The DVD also features extras which were shown on ITV (including Rob Collard & Paul O'Neill). The 2003 BTCC review offers a means of re-living all the excitement and tension of this ultra-competitive season. A must for any BTCC fan!

Synopsis:
The 2000 series had the crowds on tenterhooks from the start right through to the dramatic, floodlit final at Silverstone when three drivers stood a chance of winning the covetted crown. This official end-of-season video review captures the many unique elements that make the BTCC the world’s leading saloon racing series. It also marks the last appearance for cars built to Super Touring specifications and celebrates a fantastic year for Team Ford Mondeo. Alain Menu, Anthony Reid and Rickard Rydell may be great teammates but their fierce on-track rivalry meant there’d be no let up in the battle for championship honours.

Look out too for Gabriele Tarquini (Honda Accord), Yvan Muller (Vauxhall Vectra) and Jason Plato (Vauxhall Vectra), on the pace throughout the season. Once again breathtaking pictures provided by BHP (as seen on BBC Grandstand plus plenty more you won’t have seen!) take you right into the thick of the action both trackside and in-car at all 12 rounds on Britain’s top circuits. BBC commentators Charlie Cox and John Watson deliver the detailed off-track analysis and many fascinating insights into the teams, drivers and pit crews. This is BTCC at its very best!
