Brands GP rounds switched to Indy - 25/03/04
Toca has today informed teams that it has been forced to abandon plans for the second of the two Brands Hatch meetings to take place on the Grand Prix circuit. Both BTCC meetings at Brands Hatch this year will now take place on the shorter Indy track.
The decision to make the switch appears to have been beyond the control of Toca or BMP. The circuit is amongst those recently taken over by Jonathan Palmer’s MotorSport Vision company. The World Superbikes and a BMCRC bike meeting at Brands Hatch are amongst the others scheduled to take in the GP loop at the Kent track this year.
Rounds 22, 23 & 24 in August were set to be the first for the BTCC on the 2.6 mile Grand Prix circuit since the legendary Dingle Dell corner was reprofiled last year. The second and third of the day’s BTCC races are set to be shown live on ITV1.
