Rounds 9 & 10 of the 2002 BTCC lived up to expectations at the Mondello Park circuit in Ireland, with action and excitement throughout both races. The safety car came on to the track on numerous occasions, closing up any gaps in the field that had appeared and the on track action was frantic. Matt Neal and Gavin Pyper took wins in the Touring and Production classes respectively in the Sprint Race, whilst Yvan Muller and Spencer Marsh were victorious in the longer Feature Race.
