Mondello Park - Sunday morning weather update

Mondello Park is covered by cloud this morning, with an occasional glint of sunshine bursting through. However there is also rain in the air.

Despite the forecast not being for rain, many of the BTCC teams have been practising pitstops this morning, in readiness for the eventuality of a mid-race change to grooved, wet tyres. Initial reactions are that this would hand the advantage to the BTCC runners, with just a single wheel-nut on each wheel, rather than the four of the European-spec machines.

However, this possibility has been catered for in the regulations this year, with ETCC-spec teams being allowed double the personnel of BTCC-spec teams for pit-stops.
