Team RAC head to Croft on Sunday (1 June) for rounds 13, 14 and 15 of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship buoyed by two podium finishes at Thruxton which has breathed new life into their campaign.

It was at the North Yorkshire circuit that Team RAC's Colin Turkington secured his first triumph of the 2007 season after winning the first race of the day and the Northern Irishman will be lifted by his two second-place finishes at Thruxton.

Turkington's team-mate, Stephen Jelley, will be hoping for better luck at Croft after marginally finishing outside of the points placings for the first two races at Thruxton. The 26-year-old continues to show promise in his first season in touring cars having made the move from F3 at the beginning of the 2008 season.

Turkington will begin the weekend in eighth position in the overall BTCC driver standings with 63 points, while Stephen Jelley will be looking to secure crucial points as he attempts to move up the driver's championship.

Dick Bennetts, WSR Team Principal, commented: "Everybody at Team RAC is looking forward to Croft. Colin qualified on the front row last season and then went on to win the first race of the day so it is a venue where we have been successful in the not too distant past.

"The whole team is looking forward to the warmer weather for the next couple of months where the BMW will really come into its own. After Colin's performance at Thruxton, the team are really upbeat for Croft."

Colin Turkington said: "I have good memories of the circuit after last year and the fans in the North East are always supportive of Team RAC whenever we are there.

"I am looking for Team RAC's second win of the season which I don't feel is far away after the terrific performance at Thruxton."
