John Guest Racing: Brands season finale for John Guest Racing

Mike and Andrew Jordan will conclude a memorable season of racing in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship in the final meeting of the season on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch on 20/21 September and it promises to be another day of epic BTCC action.

It has been a great season for Mike (50) and Andrew (19) as they formed the first father and son team in the 50-year history of the BTCC, racing the pair of Honda Integras from John Guest Racing. They have also featured in a special fly-on-the-wall TV documentary series for Sky Sports.

Now come the final three races of the season and both drivers are going to Brands determined to challenge for a place on the overall podium as well as victory among the Independents. While Andrew has scored two overall podium finishes this season, Mike has a best result to date of fourth overall. That finish came when the season started at Brands back in late March and Mike is determined to end the season with another challenge for the podium.

"We've got exactly the same pace; it's just about being in the right place at the right time. The pace among the top 12 or 15 cars is so close, that it's very hard to do anything," said Andrew, looking ahead to Brands.

"He had a fourth place at the first meeting at Brands, which was great. He's got mega race craft, so if he can get up there with a bit of luck in qualifying I'm sure the podium is possible," said Andrew of his father's chances at Brands.

However, at least 15 other drivers on the grid all have a podium finish as their target and qualifying will be absolutely critical at a track where grid positions are decided by hundredths of a second.
